A New Look

After the past few seasons we Rebels fans have seen the influx of great wide receivers coming to Oxford. We watched the departure of three Rebels greats to graduation and the NFL Draft so we are left wondering what the future holds. Well, the future of the NWO is alive and well and while the younger members are still learning the new Rich Rod system we can be sure they are showing their talents.

Some experienced receivers we are watching thru the spring and into the upcoming Grove Bowl include junior Braylon Sanders, freshman Elijah Moore and red-shirt freshman Miles Battle. Of course, they are expected to replace the departed NWO starters from 2018 and likely will be the three main starters in 2019. This also creates an opportunity for other young receivers to make a statement this spring.

OHT is also keeping eyes on a number of new faces in the NWO. Red-shirt freshman Demarcus Gregory, freshman Jadon Jackson and EMCC JUCO transfer Dontario Drummond are all worth watching thru the spring and could be significant figures in the NWO in the 2019 season. We wait for the 2019 Grove Bowl so we see who becomes who in the new NWO. Don’t count out the TE position becoming an integral and influential part of the Rich Rod offense. The TE’s could carry the belt in 2019 despite being shunned in the past.
