The Running Game

As much as Rebels fans have become just a little ‘pass happy’ over the years you can’t deny the success the Rebels have had out of the backfield. Most Rebels fans love the spread offense but we all know the team which runs the ball successfully wins games, just look at Bama and Georgia.

While the spread is the game in Oxford we know we have to be balanced or at least it should be. It may concern some Rebels but from what we know we have a stable of RBs and 2019 will be a year where the running game may pull wins from losses.

Naturally there is a major focus on senior Scottie Phillips who had a great 2018 season. There are also sophomores Tylan Knight and Isaiah Woullard as well as freshman Snoop Conner who also seeing time in the Rebels backfield thru the spring. One exciting twist for the spring is the return of junior D’Vaughn Pennamon who was injured during the 2018 season.
