Some Gaps To Fill

We know the success of this offense hinges on replacing great players in the majority of the offensive position groups. The offensive line is one area in which graduation and the NFL draft hit the Rebels specifically hard. Three starters from 2018 are now gone and coach Jack Bicknell will have his work cut out trying to find the best possible replacements thru the spring.

With the departure of Sean Rawlings we know the center position is wide open. Junior Eli Johnson is the likely starter but we can’t be sure who will be until we see the Rebels in action during the Grove Bowl. The offensive tackle position is also another which is wide open because of the departure of Greg Little and Javon Patterson.

Among the linemen available during the spring we are watching senior Alex Givens who has made starts at both tackle and guard. Also eyes are on sophomore Ben Brown who made significant starts in 2018. Also available are sophomores Samuel Plash and Peyton Cox as well as juniors Chandler Tuitt, Bryce Mathews and Royce Newman. Fans are also watching redshirt freshmen Hamilton Hall and Nic Cantu to have big springs.
