The Outside

If the inside linebacker position is important in the Mike Mac 3-4 defense then you know the outside LBs are paramount for success. When it comes to the outside linebacker position we’ve seen Mike Mac make some major adjustments with personnel changes. From last season we have players who played defensive end and are now playing outside linebacker and this means a huge change from what we are used to.

Seniors Qaadir Sheppard, Brenden Williams and junior Charles Wiley all played the EDGE last season and all have a legitimate shot at starting spots at the OLB position. Also available are JUCO transfer Sam Williams who is expected to be an impact player for the Rebels defense. There is also sophomores Kevontae’ Ruggs and Jonathan Hess as well as redshirt freshmen Luke Knox and Lawson Stockett.
