Defensive Backs

This is a position group which despite being loaded with talent have struggled from game to game with little tough coverage. Coached solely by former Rebels DB Charles Clark this spring we have to believe he will have them charged and ready for the Grove Bowl. Seniors Montrell Custis, Myles Hartsfield, Jalen Julius, Jaylon Jones, Armani Linton, Art Mitchell , Jerry Johnson, Kweisi Fountain and Vernon Dasher look to be in the mix for starting spots in the Rebels secondary.

Also being watched thru the spring are sophomores CJ Miller, Kam White, Keidron Smith and Ty Rocconi as well as freshman Jalen Jordan and redshirt freshman Jakorey Hawkins. Available for the Rebels spring practice are JUCO transfers Jamar Richardson and Jonathan Haynes who are both expected to make immediate impacts in the secondary. This position group is very experienced and talented. How it translates on the field in 2019 will be seen at the Grove Bowl.

dark. Next. The Offensive Side of The Spring

With a new defensive look and obvious personnel changes its hard to guess how the Rebels secondary and other position groups will look. However we don’t have to wait much longer to see if the Landshark defense is going to resurface. The Grove Bowl is scheduled for April 6th and we’ll have a chance to see what the new look on the defensive side of the ball is going to look like under new defensive coordinator Mike MacIntyre. Hotty Toddy!
