Coach Mike Bianco and No.20 Ole Miss baseball were back in action Friday as they travelled to face Mizzou in the first SEC road series of 2019.

Coach Mike Bianco and No.20 Ole Miss baseball (16-7, 2-2) were travelling for the first SEC road series of the 2019 season. The Rebels were set to face the Missouri Tigers (14-8) coming off a 25-0 midweek blowout of UAPB. Bianco and the Rebels found the going tough with cold bats and fell 2-1 in Columbia.

Missouri got on the board first with 1 run in the bottom of the first and took the 1-0 lead thru the fourth inning. Ole Miss tied the game with a run in the top of the fifth but the Tigers answered with 1 run in the bottom of the frame to take the 2-1 lead and ultimately the series opening win over the Rebels. OHT takes a look at the loss by the numbers.

Observations

From what we’ve seen so far in the 2019 Ole Miss baseball season we know that the Rebels have good pitching which is still trying to find itself. In game-one the Rebels pitching staff picked up where they left off against UAPB but the Rebels were stymied at the plate. When this Rebels team connects with the ball they are very good but we’ve seen some slumps at the plate.
