Mike Mac Is Working

While coach Mike MacIntyre isn’t facing as many empty positions on the defensive side of the ball as Rich Rod has had to fill on the offense there is the fact of his 3-4 defense being completely new. We know anytime a new coordinator comes in and implements a new system there will be growing pains. This spring is no different for both defensive coaches and players. Naturally we have seen some position changes for players.

Among the transitions in the roster are former defensive ends which have been moved to the OLB position as well as a number of changes in the Rebels secondary. This is expected with a new coordinator who has new coaches among his staff. Coaches Tyrone Nix and Jeff Koonz have both brought their experience to the linebackers position and have been busy working in the new Mike Mac 3-4 defense. This defense will be exciting to watch in the upcoming Grove Bowl.
