Ole Miss Rebels

Over the years Ole Miss football fans have learned to temper their enthusiasm when it comes to our sports programs. 2019 should be no different for any of us. The 2019 edition of Ole Miss football will be much better than what we witnessed in 2018 and especially on the defensive side of the ball. However, both new coordinators are dealing with issues.

On the offensive side of the ball Rich Rod has had to find replacements for 8 starters from 2018 who departed for the upcoming NFL draft and graduation. There is no doubt the Rebels have the talent but the development may not quite be there this soon. With a new coordinator we should expect there to some growing pains for some younger players.

While the defensive side of the ball wasn’t gapped up like the offense there is the fact that Mike Mac is introducing the new 3-4 defense and has made some personnel changes for a number of positions. With players working in different positions we can expect there to be a learning curve. However from what we’ve learned so far thru the spring the defense is coming along great and as stated earlier should be far better in 2019 than what we’ve witnessed in recent seasons.
