With the departure of senior QB Jordan Ta’amu to graduation and probable NFL some Rebels fans are nervous about the QB position in 2019. Red-shirt freshman Matt Corral will be the Rebels starter in 2019.

Last season we had a chance to see Corral on the field and there was an obvious improvement from the 2018 Grove Bowl. A year can make a huge difference in the development of a college quarterback and we are anxious to see Corral in action.

In 2018 Matt Corral, then a true freshman, we watched appear in four games and we saw what we had to look forward to. Corral finished the 2018 season completing 16 of 22 passes for 2 TDs and 1 INT. On the ground we figured out Corral has wheels to match his arm. In 2018 Corral had 13 carries for 83 rushing yards with 2 TDs.
