One of the huge events for Ole Miss football on Grove Bowl weekend is the presentation of the Chucky Mullins Courage Award which was Saturday.
This was Grove Bowl weekend and all eyes were on the 2019 edition of Ole Miss football as coach Matt Luke and the Rebels wrapped up their spring practice. Besides the annual spring game there is always a full slate of activities for Rebels fans to enjoy. One of the most anticipated events is the presentation of the Chucky Mullins Courage Award and the honor of wearing the No.38 on the defensive side of the ball.
Saturday the Chucky Mullins Courage Award Luncheon was held and we learned who the 2019 recipient is and who will wear the No.38 this season. Senior Austrian Robinson was selected to receive the award and the number for the 2019 season. Over the years Rebels fans have seen some greats receive the honor and now Robinson is the next.
More On Robinson
Ole Miss Rebels
Austrian Robinson arrived at Ole Miss as a part of the 2015 recruiting class out of Trinity-Pawling School in New York. After being red-shirted for the 2015 season the defensive lineman saw the field in 2016 playing in six games and earning his first letter for the Rebels.
In 2017 Robinson played in 10 games and despite playing injured had two incredible games against Texas A&M and then Miss State, in the Rebels Egg Bowl win. In 2018 Robinson played in 11 games.
While in Oxford over three seasons Robinson has played in 26 games recording 52 total tackles with 18 solos, 5.5 TFL and 3.5 sacks. Robinson also has 1 pass deflection and 1 fumble recovery to his credit.
While he has played at both defensive end and defensive tackle positions in his three seasons he is now playing in a new defense where the 6’4 and 285lb Robinson will be playing at the DE position.
Congratulations to Austrian Robinson on receiving a great honor and Ole Miss football fans will be watching for this No.38’s success this season. Hotty Toddy!
