Coach Mike Smith and No.9 Ole Miss softball were back in action as they opened the SEC series against Missouri with a doubleheader.

Coach Mike Smith and No.9 Ole Miss softball (30-10, 9-4) hosted the Missouri Tigers (23-18, 6-8) at the Ole Miss Softball Complex Friday. Because of expected inclement weather in the Oxford are for Saturday the Rebels were forced to begin the series with a doubleheader. The Rebels then scored 3 runs in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 5-0. In game-two of the Friday doubleheader things were just a little different. After a scoreless first inning Ole Miss got on the board with 1 run in the bottom of the second and that would be the only score the Rebels would need and picked up the 1-0 win and the doubleheader sweep.
