Ole Miss Softball: Rebels rack up SEC regular season honors
Ole Miss softball is now awaiting the beginning of another SEC Tourney run and have racked up the SEC accolades from another great regular season.
After a great 2019 Ole Miss softball season the SEC has handed out regular season accolades. Since his arrival in Oxford, coach Mike Smith has done a tremendous job both on and off the field bringing perineal wins, an SEC Tourney Championship and some great softball players to Ole Miss. Now some of those great players are being recognized just prior to the 2019 SEC Tourney.
Tuesday the SEC announced its All-SEC teams and the Rebels racked up in record fashion. For the first time in program history there have been four Rebels who were named on All-SEC. Senior Kylan Becker, juniors Molly Jacobsen and Kaylee Horton and freshman Tate Whitley all made All-SEC teams. OHT takes a closer look.

Ole Miss Rebels
Senior Kylan Becker picked up her second All-SEC First Team selection. Becker has been solid in the outfield and at a .417 clip which ranks third in the SEC in 2019. Becker has a slugging percentage of .536 and an on-base percentage of .479.
Becker also has 25 RBI, 28 stolen bases and her 7 triples leads the SEC in 2019. Becker is the only player in Ole Miss softball program history to be selected All-SEC First Team. Becker was also named to the SEC Community Service Team Wednesday.
Junior left-hander Molly Jacobsen earned All-SEC Second Team honors for 2019. Jacobsen has gone for 143.0 innings allowing just 118 hits with 140 Ks and 33 BB while maintaining a 1.76 ERA.
Junior Kaylee Horton was selected to the 2019 All-SEC Defensive Team. Horton has a fielding percentage of .971 with just 1 error on the season. Horton has also hit .288 with 19 RBI during the regular season.
Freshman Tate Whitley earned All-SEC Freshman Team honors for the 2019 season. Whitley made 43 starts in 47 appearances for the Rebels. Whitley carried a .307 batting average with a slugging percentage of .376 and an on-base percentage of .321.
These four All-SEC Rebels and the rest of the Ole Miss softball Rebels will be back in action Wednesday night as they face Miss State to open their 2019 SEC Tourney. First pitch from College Station is set for 8pm CT but at publish time of this article the tourney has been under a rain delay. The Ole Miss and Miss State game is scheduled to be televised via SEC Network. Congrats to these four Rebels and good luck to coach Mike Smith and Ole Miss softball in the SEC Tourney. BEAT STATE!
