Coach Mike Bianco and Ole Miss baseball opened the Oxford Regional as they hosted Jacksonville State Friday night at Swayze Field.

Ole Miss baseball was back in action Friday night as they opened their Oxford regional. The Rebels entered the Oxford Regional coming off a disappointing loss in the SEC Tourney Championship game against Vandy. Ole Miss was selected to host the Oxford regional as a No.12 national seed after a 4-2 showing in Hoover. The Rebels would face off against Jacksonville State in their regional opener.

Jacksonville State got on the board first with 1 run in the top of the first. The Rebels scored 2 runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 2-1 lead. The Rebels extended their lead to 4-1 with 2 runs in the bottom of the third inning. The Rebels poured it on the Gamecocks in the bottom of the fourth and followed with a 5-run frame in the bottom of the fifth to take a 10-1 lead.

Jacksonville State added 1 run in the top of the seventh to cut the Rebels lead to 10-2. Not done, the Rebels added 5 more runs in the bottom of the frame to extend the lead to 15-2. The Rebels then added some insurance in the bottom of the eighth to extend the lead to 16-2 which was ultimately the final. OHT looks at the Ole Miss win by the numbers.
