Sam Williams, OLB

It’s hard to find a better linebacker than Sam Williams. Williams was a beast at the edge and put up incredible numbers for the Rebels’ defense. Williams finished the season with 40 total tackles,  8 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks. He also had 3 quarterback hurries and 1 forced fumble.

It’s no wonder why Ole Miss football fans were elated when Williams announced in early January he would be returning for another season. At 6’4 and 265 lbs, Williams is big enough to stop the run and fast enough to rush off the edge. Sam Williams will be a force to be reckoned with in the 2021 Rebels defense.

Naturally, it is a difficult task to pick out just five Rebels who are valuable to the defense. The Rebels have a lot of talent on the depth chart and all will have to be ready to play at a higher level to find success. So we wait for the opening kickoff in the 2021 Ole Miss football season. As always, stay safe and Hotty Toddy!
