November 13 marks the Rebels’ tenth game of the season and the second biggest for the Rebels in the 2021 season. It would have been good to see how Lane Kiffin and the Rebels would have fared against the Texas A&M Aggies in 2020. However, the game was canceled because of Covid-19 issues so Ole Miss football fans never had the chance to find out.

The Aggies have been very much improved under Jimbo Fisher. Fisher is a great head coach and as a proven winner he has formed the Aggies back into an SEC team to be reckoned with. In 2020, the Aggies finished with a 9-1 record, their only loss coming in a 52-24 drumming by No.2 Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The Aggies capped off the 2020 season with a commanding 41-27 win over No.13 North Carolina in the Orange Bowl.

In 2020, the TAMU averaged 32.6 points per game while allowing only 20.5 from opponents. The Aggies average 439.2 yards of total offense per game with 205.1 yards coming on the ground and 234.1 coming thru the air. The Aggies defense was much better in 2020 than we had seen in the past. The Aggies allowed 317.3 yards of total offense from opponents with just 92.1 rushing yards allowed and 235.3 passing yards allowed.

This will be an interesting game as it will showcase what are likely the two best quarterbacks in the SEC. Kellon Mond is returning and he is in the TAMU record books as the leader in All-time career total offense, passing yards, passing touchdowns, completions, and attempts. In 2020 Mond completed 188 of 297 attempts for 2,282 yards with 19 TDs and just 3 INTs. Mond also had 74 carries for 294 yards and 4 TDs on the ground.

This will be an interesting game filled with high-powered offense from both teams. TAMU has a relatively good defense and if Ole Miss has a defensive improvement from 2020 this could be a game that is decided on turnovers. Protect the ball and you win the game. This game is the second most scary on the Rebels’ schedule behind Alabama. OHT believes this one will be tight but will go in the Aggies’ favor.
