Saturday, October 16 the Rebels will be back on the road for game-six of the 2021 Ole Miss football season. This week the Rebels will be in Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers. Everybody already knows what the Vols have become. In 2020 the Vols went 3-7. Tennessee began the season 2-0 with a 31-27 win over South Carolina followed by a 35-12 over Missouri. Then the wheels fell off. The Vols’ third win came over a hapless Vanderbilt team.

If there is a college football team that exemplifies a dumpster fire it has to be Tennessee. The Volunteers decided it was time to part ways with former head coach Jeremy Pruitt after the allegations of recruits being paid. Whether true or not, Pruitt and former AD Phil Fulmer are no longer in Knoxville. Enter Danny White as the new AD and Josh Heupel as the new head coach. Was it a good move? Only time will tell, but it was a move that had to be made.

Josh Heupel is a good coach and is no stranger to explosive offenses and winning. Heupel has the tools and talent on the roster to make UT competitive again, but how soon it happens remains to be seen. The Vols have a tough schedule before they face the Rebels and it won’t fare well for UT when Ole Miss shows up. The Rebels get tested but come through with the win.
