Updating you on the latest Ole Miss news: Ole Miss baseball takes weekend series 2-1 against Maryland.

Ole Miss baseball dropped their first game of the year this past Friday against the Maryland Terrapins by a score of 9-2. They would however go on to dominate the next two games on Saturday and Sunday.

After starting the year at 4-0, the Rebels had yet to be seriously challenged. A top-13-ranked Maryland team would give them that challenge early on but the Rebels answered the bell after losing handily in game one.

On Saturday Ole Miss responded and picked up their fifth overall win beating Maryland 12-6. They would continue their strong offensive play into Sunday as they scored a season-high 18 runs to Maryland’s eight and would win the series overall 2-1.

Ole Miss is showing that they have some serious firepower offensively out-scoring opponents 78 runs to 31. While they have been able to win with a dominant offense, they did allow Maryland to put up a high run total as well.

When asked about the Rebels’ performance after the three-game series head coach Mike Bianco stated “We didn’t play really well on Friday against a good team. Proud of the offense, proud of us hanging in there. We’re going to continue to work and get better.”
