Ole Miss basketball head coach Chris Beard landed his third transfer this offseason in Western Kentucky Center Jamarion Sharp.

Chris Beard has apparently been taking notes from Lane Kiffin regarding the transfer portal. Transfer to the ‘Sip can officially be named a university-wide motto at this point.

The Ole Miss basketball program just picked up their third transfer from the NCAA transfer portal in former Western Kentucky big man Jamarion Sharp. Sharp went on his official visit to Oxford this past week along with North Texas guard Tylor Perry.

While Perry is planning to make his decision on where he will play officially on May 2, Sharp decided he would be calling Oxford home.

Standing at 7 foot 5, 235 pounds, Sharp is one of the largest players in all of college basketball and has been the top shot blocker in the country for the last two years.

Originally from Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Sharp wasn’t a top-tier prospect coming out of high school. He averaged 7.6 points and 7.9 rebounds as a senior and would go on to play one year of Junior College at John A. Logan College.

As a sophomore, he averaged 7.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.8 blocks. That would earn him a four-star prospect ranking and the number one junior college player in the nation by 247Sports where he would then move on to Western Kentucky.

In his first year at WKU Sharp averaged 8.2 points per game, 7.6 rebounds, and led the country in blocks per game with 4.62.

This past year he played and started in 32 of the Hilltoppers’ 33 total games. Sharp led the country in blocks again, posting 131 total blocks averaging 4.1 per game. He also averaged 7.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per game and was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year.

Sharp is joining former Georgetown transfer guard Brandon Murray and former Arizona State guard Austin Nunez as the first three transfers to join the Ole Miss basketball program under new head coach Chris Beard.
