Ole Miss football is entering their week three matchup against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets currently sitting at 2-0 on the year. We’re previewing the matchup including game time, odds, and more.

So far so good for the 2023 Ole Miss football season as the rebels currently sit perfect through two games. Last week the Rebels took care of business against a pesky Tulane team although head coach Lane Kiffin expressed his frustration with the Rebels’ offense, specifically their ability to run the ball.

The struggles on the ground are somewhat concerning given the running game was the bread and butter of Kiffin’s offense a year ago. The Rebels finished 2022 third in all of college football in total rushing yards behind only Army and Air Force.

Ole Miss football also possesses one of the best running backs in the nation in Quinshon Judkins, who led the potent rushing attack with 1,567 yards a year ago.

We will see if the Rebels can get the ground game on track this weekend against a 1-1 Georgia Tech team. . The Yellow Jackets dropped their season opener to Louisville 39-34 in the Aflac Kickoff game two weeks ago. Last week they cruised to an easy win over South Carolina State 48-13.

Ole Miss and Georgia Tech faced off last season, a matchup in which The Rebels easily handled the Yellow Jackets 42-0. In that game Ole Miss ran for 316 yards and six touchdowns, of which 98 yards and two of those scores came from Judkins.

This game may not quite turn into the blowout that it was a year ago, but I would expect Ole Miss to win by a couple of scores before they head to Tuscaloosa next week. The big question remains on if the Rebels can get their running game woes fixed before they begin SEC play.
