Number 20 ranked Ole Miss sits at 3-1 heading into a week 5 matchup against number 13 ranked LSU. Let’s preview the game, including start time, odds and more.

The Rebels suffered their first loss of the season in Tuscaloosa at the hands of Alabama. It was a frustrating one, as the usually high octane offense fell flat. The defense did well to keep the game close for some time, until the 4th quarter TD made it a two score deficit.

Four teams sit at 3-1 in the SEC West standings. Only problem for Ole Miss, is that their loss was against a conference team. They have work to do and what better place to start than in week 5 against LSU.

The key area where this game can be won or lost, is in the trenches. Can the Rebels offensive line hold off this big defensive front, who can cause havoc in a blink of an eye.

On top of stopping the pass rush, they need to help kick-start the run game that is floundering. The dominant ground game from last season led by Quinshon Judkins, has gone awol. Ole Miss needs to find it quickly, which would be a big boost to the offense.

LSU are coming off a high scoring 34-31 win over Arkansas in Baton Rouge. They were pushed close by the Razorbacks, a week after dismantling Mississippi State.

Last season’s game between the two resulted in a 45-20 loss to the Tigers. The Rebels raced out to a 17-3 lead, before being outscored 28-0 in the second half. Lane Kiffin will be hoping for a performance that mirrors the first half of the 2022 game on Saturday.

As well as the big game Saturday in Oxford, there will be a special presentation at halftime. The 2003 team that featured Eli Manning will be honoured on the field.  An important season in Ole Miss history.
