Home is where the heart is as Ole Miss entertain Arkansas at the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday. The Rebels will be looking to head into the week 7 bye week sitting at 5-1. What can we expect in the late Saturday night window?

Ole Miss are coming off a statement win against LSU, the one Lane Kiffin has been after for some time. The offense was electric, putting up 7 touchdowns on the way to 55 points. The defense also allowed 7 touchdowns, something Kiffin wasn’t happy about. He wants more from the defense against Arkansas.

The opposition have lost 3 in a row after the weekends 34-22 defeat at the hands of Texas A&M. It’s been a struggle for the Razorbacks this season, the offense are chugging along. However, the defense is giving up points for fun in the last 3 games. They are ranked 112 in points allowed during the 3 game span of losses.

The ground game that has been fun to watch over the last couple of seasons, has been extinguished by the opposition. QB KJ Jefferson is averaging just 1.9 yards per carry from 65 carries, way down on the previous two seasons.

This may have been affected by the limitations of big bodied RB Raheim Sanders, who has missed 3 games and has not been fully fit in the two games he’s featured in. Sanders had 11 carries for 34 yards against the Aggies, shaking some of the rust off potentially.

The defense has struggled in the last two games, both against SEC teams who have prolific offenses. On paper, Ole Miss has the better offense than the two previous opponents. If they are on it like they were against LSU, it could be a long night for the Razorbacks.

Despite what has come before, this Arkansas team can be a danger. They say never provoke a wounded animal and these Hogs are suffering. They could try use last seasons win against Ole Miss as a footprint towards a good performance. However, this isn’t the Rebels team of last season, they are far more dangerous at their peak.

On Saturday under the lights, it will be the stripe the Vaught game for Ole Miss. Each section will wear either red or powder blue to make an amazing effect, as we saw last season. If you are going to the game, make sure you check to see what colour you should be wearing.
