Position: Centre

Jamarion Sharp headed the JUCO route after High School, spending two seasons at John A. Logan College. In his time there, Sharp averaged 6.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.7 blocks. He was ranked a 4 star junior-college prospect when entering the portal.

Sharp chose to transfer to Western Kentucky, where he spent two seasons with the Hilltoppers. Across his 2 years he played in 64 games, starting in 60 and started 32 games in the 2022 season. Sharp smashed the school record for blocks in his Junior season, totalling a whopping 148.

Jamarion Sharp also led the nation in blocks in 2022 with 131, 21 more than the second placed guy, while also averaging 4.1 a game. Across the two seasons he averaged 7.8 points and 7.6 rebounds. His final WKU season Sharp scooped the conference USA defensive player of the season.

Ole Miss head coach Chris Beard convinced Sharp to commit to the Rebels, this after he tested the waters in the 2023 NBA Draft. However, he decided to head back to college.

He was Beard’s 3rd pick-up from the transfer portal in the off-season, with Jamarion Sharp arguably being the best.

His defensive numbers have been elite, with the Rebels hoping he can continue that trend in 2023. His size is an obvious advantage, with Ole Miss being tough to score on when he is on the court this season.

Not only on defense, he can offer a lot on offense, something that Coach Beard used to convince the Illinois native to transfer to Ole Miss. His defensive numbers as mentioned stand out, but his offensive stats are still damn good.

No disrespect to the players at Western Kentucky, but at Ole Miss we could see him look even better alongside some talent that Chris Beard has put together.

This could see Jamarion Sharp thrust himself into an even better position this time around in the NBA Draft.
