It’s been a whirlwind 2023 for freshman forward Rashaud Marshall. After committing to the Rebels back in 2022, Marshall de-committed after then head coach Kermit Davis was fired. However, After the hiring of Chris Beard, Marshall re-committed back with Ole Miss.

That wasn’t the end of the drama, with him de-committing again, before finally having resolved any doubts, assuring his services to the Rebels.

Rashaud Marshall was a 4 star star prospect out of the state of Arkansas, with 247sports ranking him the number 1 recruit in the state. He was the 92nd rated player overall from the 2023 class..

After all the questions whether Marshall would be at Ole Miss heading into the 2023/2024 season, it was a big get for Chris Beard. The previous Texas head coach has been tasked with a big rebuild for the Rebels basketball team, with young players like Marshall being an important part of that.

With a big stature, standing at 6’8 and weighing 220 pounds, Marshall is a physical presence on the court.  In his scouting report notes at the On3 website, Rashaud Marshall was described as a player with good hands, who can finish through contact.

He is a big target and is physical on the block. He was also described as a blue collar player, who always gives 100% on the court.

It’s unclear how much time Marshall will see on the court. However, he has all the capabilities in carving out a role this season. Whenever he does get some playing time, he will be an exciting prospect to watch for the Ole Miss fans.

Chris Beard has started to put together a talented bunch of players, alongside the staff he has brought in to Oxford. As well as Marshall and other commitments, Beard has attacked the transfer portal, bringing in some key players for the Rebels.
