Ole Miss are back this weekend and looking to extend their winning streak to 3 games. However, it wont be easy for the Rebels, with a tough road game vs Auburn under the lights of Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Ole Miss are in a good place after the bye week, with the week off helping get players healthy and re-charged ready for the second half of the season. This week has also seen midseason awards handed to head coach Lane Kiffin and a handful of players.

However, focus is shifted to a tough road game against Auburn on Saturday evening. A stadium that hasn’t been favourable to the Rebels in past seasons. The team have only won twice in the last 14 visits to Auburn, Alabama. The last win coming in 2015.

As a whole, its been a tough match-up vs Auburn, winning only 2 of the last 10 in the series. They did snatch the win last season, winning 48-34 in Oxford.

Auburn are in some bother at the moment, they have a record of 3-3, losing their last 3 to SEC teams. They are coming of a week 7 battering at the a hands of LSU, a team the Rebels have beaten this season.

The week before they gave the current college champions Georgia everything they had, going down 27-20. This shows it’s not an easy place to go.

The current Tigers head coach Hugh Freeze has history, coaching Ole Miss for 5 seasons from 2012 to 2016, departing under a recruiting violation cloud. This is Freeze’s first season with Auburn, after a successful 4 seasons at Liberty.

The Auburn offense has struggled so far this season, with poor QB play one of the big issues on the team. The defense however has been a surprise, playing above what was expected from them this season so far.

Regardless of the under performing opposition, this will be a tough road test for Ole Miss. A win here will be huge going forward into the Vanderbilt game.
