The Ole Miss basketball 2023/24 season starts next Monday against Alabama State at the SJB Pavilion. However, recruiting for first season head coach Chris Beard never stops. Today, he landed a commitment from a 4 star player.

Ole Miss basketball lands the first piece of their 2025 recruiting class this afternoon with the commitment of SG, Patton Pinkins. Pinkins is the son of assistant coach, Al Pinkins, and is a very highly rated player joining Chris Beard’s program.

The 6 foot 5, 170 pound, shooting guard is a consensus four star player who ranks as the 60th best player in his class. The junior from Wolfforth, Texas, is currently playing at Frenship High School and is the 9th best player in his state. He is also the 11th best SG in his class.

With an offer from his hometown Texas Tech Red Raiders, and many other offers from major programs like LSU, Wake Forest, Oklahoma, Cincinnati and Seton Hall. Patton Pinkins looks to be a very sought after recruit who can not wait to take his talents to Oxford.

Pinkins is the first commitment in the 2025 class for the Rebels. However, they do have four from the 2024 class, including 4 star centre John Bol out of Atlanta, Georgia.

HC Chris Beard is starting to put his stamp on the Ole Miss Basketball team. Already he has used the portal and limited time in the 2023 class to make the Rebels competitive for the new season. However, the work has begun on future commits, with Beard being judged more after this season when it comes to recruiting.

Make sure to tune in Monday night as the Rebels take on Alabama St in the first game of the season. We will be a doing previews and recaps for all games this upcoming season!
