Ole Miss Football: Tre Harris shines in week 10 win
Ole Miss clung on to victory in a exhilarating encounter against Texas A&M at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium earlier today. There were some good and some average performances in the 38-35 win. However, one guy had a day to remember and that was receiver Tre Harris.
The offense struggled at times against the Aggies, with QB Jaxson Dart being inconsistent with his throwing. The Rebels were only 4-11 on 3rd down conversions and their play wasn’t fluent, largely thanks to a very good Aggies defensive front.
One player that was the go to target all the way through the game was wide receiver Tre Harris. In key moments, Harris made big catches to continue drives and keep the offensive momentum going, when it looked to be fading.
Harris finished the game with 11 catches for 213 receiving yards and a TD. One of those 11 catches was something straight out of the OBJ highlight reel collection.
Near the end of the 3rd quarter on third and long, Harris caught a 32 yard pass from Jaxson Dart at the Aggies 7 yard line. However, it was the manor of the catch that had fans amazed. While being tracked and held on the sideline by a Texas A&M defensive player, Harris managed to bend backwards to make the catch with one hand, while keeping his foot in bounds.
It’s not the first time Harris has been the key contributor on offense for the Rebels. In the 6 full games the Louisiana Tech transfer has played for the Rebels, he has led in receiving yards in 4 of them. In all of them, he has had over 100 yards rushing. This however was his first 200 yard receiving game in college football.
Harris now has a season tally of 749 receiving yards, 186 yards of his season best in the 2022 season. With 3 games left, you would be a brave man to bet against him not surpassing his that total.
