Quarterback Jaxson Dart is coming to the end of a big second season with the Rebels. However, he has a decision to make about his football future. Lane Kiffin addressed that on Thursday.

With two games left of the 2023 season, Jaxson Dart will be looking to finish it strong. It’s his third season as a college football player, two of them the quarterback of Ole Miss.

Now a Junior, Dart could declare for the NFL Draft in 2024. On Thursday evening, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin dropped some news about the future of Jaxson Dart.

Kiffin confirmed on the Reb Talk Podcast that quarterback Jaxson Dart will be coming back to Oxford for the 2024 season.

"“I guess I can kind of speak for him, he’s said he’s coming back,” night. “So we’re planning on him being back next year and getting better.” Lane Kiffin on Reb Talk Thursday night."

Kiffin also confirmed on the podcast that Jaxson Dart would be good to go against Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday. Dart took a big hit against Georgia and had to exit the game. However, Kiffin said he will suit up in the final home game.

As a junior, Dart has improved his performance from last season. The Utah native is on track to have his best numbers in his three seasons in college. Jaxson Dart currently sits at 2,579 passing yards, with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Dart is down on turnovers from last season, having 11 in the 2022 campaign. In 2023, he also has seven touchdowns on the ground, an improvement from last season.

Kiffin and Dart will have another off-season to work together and improve further, which will be huge for the Rebels in 2024.

It will be beneficial for Jaxson Dart, with further improvement in his senior year, improving his draft stock in 2025. It feels like a good decision from Dart and a positive for Kiffin and the team.
