Raymond Cottrell

Another big receiver that Kiffin could be looking at is Raymond Cottrell. The 6-foot-3 receiver was a 2023 recruit, touted by all the SEC big schools. Alabama, Georgia and Texas A&M all offered Cottrell as well as his home state schools, Florida and Florida State.

Cottrell committed to Georgia in November 2021 before de-committing to open up his recruitment again. He then decided Texas A&M was where he wanted to play, committing to Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies in June 2023.

The day after Jimbo Fisher was fired as head coach, Raymond Cottrell entered the transfer portal. The Florida native had just one catch in 2023, resulting in a 13-yard touchdown against ULM Warhawks.

Cottrell was rated a 4-star recruit by 247sports and the number 39 overall receiver in the 2023 class. As it stands now, he is the number 1 receiver in the transfer portal and the number 2 overall player in the portal’s early stages.

It does look like Cottrell may head back to his home state, with Florida and Florida State looking favourites early on. However, if Kiffin is interested in the big receiver, he could possibly convince him to stay in the SEC with Ole Miss.
