Ole Miss Football: Rebels are heading to the Peach Bowl
The final college football rankings have been announced, with a handful of bowl games already being confirmed. Ole Miss will be heading to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec.30.
Ole Miss stayed at number 11, the second time in four seasons Lane Kiffin has had the Rebels ranked. Both times, Ole Miss were ranked in the top 12, with their best being ranked number 8 in 2021.
The Rebels did make an NY6 bowl, the second time they have done so under Kiffin. They will compete in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl against Penn State on Dec.30. The game will be live on ESPN at 11 a.m. CST/ 12 p.m. EST.
It will be the first time Ole Miss and Penn State have met on a college football field. The Nittany Lions finished the season ranked 12. They had the same 10-2 record as Ole Miss, losing to Big Ten rivals Michigan and Ohio State.
It will be the third time the Rebels have competed in the Peach Bowl, with a 1-1 record. The last time Ole Miss played in the Peach Bowl was in 2014 against TCU.
Itβs another impressive season for Lane Kiffin and the Rebels, finishing the regular season 10-2 for the second time in his four seasons. A win in the Peach Bowl would make it his most successful at Ole Miss.
It will be an intriguing match-up between two teams who love to play high-powered offensive football. Head coach James Franklin has done a great job at Penn State and will want to finish on a high, after another season of failing to beat their main two rivals.
