It will be the first time Ole Miss and Penn State have met on a college football field. The Nittany Lions finished the season ranked 12. They had the same 10-2 record as Ole Miss, losing to Big Ten rivals Michigan and Ohio State.
It will be the third time the Rebels have competed in the Peach Bowl, with a 1-1 record. The last time Ole Miss played in the Peach Bowl was in 2014 against TCU.
It’s another impressive season for Lane Kiffin and the Rebels, finishing the regular season 10-2 for the second time in his four seasons. A win in the Peach Bowl would make it his most successful at Ole Miss.
It will be an intriguing match-up between two teams who love to play high-powered offensive football. Head coach James Franklin has done a great job at Penn State and will want to finish on a high, after another season of failing to beat their main two rivals.
