Ole Miss Football are in the transfer portal market for a wide receiver. They have offers out for talented players such as Will Sheppard and Ja’Mori Maclin. Could South Carolina transfer Antwane “Juice” Wells be on his way to Oxford?

The college football transfer portal is picking up speed by the day, with numerous players declaring they have entered. One of the big-name wide receivers in Antwane “Juice” Wells entered a few days ago, with Texas, Tennessee and others mentioned as his next destination.

“Juice” Wells has transferred out of South Carolina, spending two seasons with the Gamecocks. Before that, he had two seasons with James Madison in the FCS.

Wells managed just three catches for 37 yards and a touchdown, appearing in the first three games sparingly. He did not see the field again after the Georgia game, due to a ongoing injury.

“Juice” Wells had 68 catches for 938 yards and six touchdowns in his first season with the Gamecocks.

Wells wasn’t a name that was being linked to being a transfer target for Ole Miss. However, earlier this afternoon Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin was hitting the X account hard, posting cryptic messages.

The first was a golf cart covered in South Carolina decals, this was then followed by two GIFs from the movie Moneyball. The second of those is the scene when Peter Brand played by Jonah Hill, makes a fist in happiness of making a trade deal.

Kiffin then potentially through a spanner in the works by reposting that Texas A&M DL Walter Nolan had hit the transfer portal. Not long after, Kiffin posted a sign that read “Welcome to Oconee County”. Oconee County is in South Carolina, surely meaning that a previous Gamecock player is the reason for the cryptic posts.

It’s a small jump, but the cryptic tweets look to mean that Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss are about to announce something very soon.

If it is Antwane “Juice” Wells who is the player that Kiffin is about to announce, it would mean the Ole Miss wide receiver room is looking very healthy going into 2024.
