Awards season is in full swing, with Ole Miss players Quinshon Judkins and Caden Prieskorn already getting mentions in the ALL-SEC Coaches Teams. Earlier today, it was linebacker Suntarine Perkins turn to make the ALL-SEC Freshman team.
Ole Miss are coming off another good season under Lane Kiffin. It was their second 10-2 season, with their losses coming against top six ranked teams in Alabama and Georgia.
Two of the Ole Miss squad were mentioned in the ALL-SEC Coaches Team. Running Back Quinshon Judkins and tight end Caden Prieskorn were awarded spots for their performances this season.
The Rebel’s defense got a spot on the ALL-SEC Freshman Team via true freshman linebacker Suntarine Perkins.
Perkins recorded 36 tackles and 3.5 sacks during the season. Perkins started the season at a fast pace. However, he slowed down at the back end of the season. His best game came in the loss to Alabama, recording two sacks and five tackles.
Earlier today, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin made the semi-finalist list for the George Munger Coach of the Year.
It’s been a decent week for Ole Miss in the ALL-SEC teams. However, you could argue they should have had a few more players making the cut.
Next season could be an exciting one for the defense, with JJ Pegues coming back for another season and another top DL recruit Kamarion Franklin joining in 2024.
Ole Miss will play Penn State in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec.30. A win against the Nittany Lions would give the Rebels their best season under Lane Kiffin.
