If you have been sleeping under a rock this last week, then you won’t be aware that the college football transfer portal is in full swing. Ole Miss have already had a few player visits, and they have two key transfer portal targets invited to Oxford.

Lane Kiffin has started work on trying to build out the roster for the 2024 season. The “Portal King” is putting in the work, already having a commitment from the number one JUCO transfer in wide receiver Deion Smith. Kiffin has already had a visit from OT Gerquan Scott and has numerous offers out.

Two key transfer portal players on Kiffin’s list will be visiting Oxford, one of them this weekend.

This weekend, South Carolina wide receiver Antwane “Juice” Wells will be on a weekend visit. Rumours surfaced that Wells could be a target for Kiffin when the Ole Miss head coach took to his X account to post numerous cryptic posts. The posts indicated Kiffin was in South Carolina getting a deal done.

“Juice” Wells didn’t see much action this season for the Gamecocks due to injury. In 2022, Wells had 68 receptions for 928 yards and six touchdowns.

Ole Miss are looking healthy in the wide receiver room. That’s if Tre Harris and Jordan Watkins stay for another season. Adding a player like Wells would make them one of the best receiver rooms in college.

The second player to have a visit in the pipeline is Clemson defensive back Andrew Mukuba. He plans on visiting Ole Miss next week, along with Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon and USC.

Mukuba is a high transfer portal target, playing in 35 games for the Clemson Tigers, while earning ACC Rookie of the Year in 2021. This season, Mukuba had 45 tackles and six pass break-ups.

There will be much more to come from Kiffin and Ole Miss in the transfer portal. It’s always fun down in the Sip.
