Ole Miss Football: Best player in transfer portal Walter Nolen to visit Rebels
When Texas A&M defensive lineman Walter Nolen entered the transfer portal last week, it was a surprise to some. Nolen is searching for his new home, with Ole Miss next on his list of visits.
Walter Nolen will be taking a visit to Ole Miss this week. The defensive lineman is searching for his next chapter in college football. Nolen is coming off his recent visit to Oregon, with the Rebels maybe a surprise option for the number one transfer portal player.
However, Ole Miss fans will know how relentless head coach Lane Kiffin is in the transfer portal. It was just a few days ago when Lane Kiffin reposted a post on X, which mentioned that Walter Nolen had entered the transfer portal. Rebels fans were split between the head coach’s actions. Did it mean something? or was it just a bit of fun?
Now we know that Lane Kiffin had been talking to Walter Nolen, working his magic to get him to visit Oxford.
Of course, it doesn’t mean that Ole Miss are guaranteed a commitment from Nolen. However, they have the same chance as any other team with an interest in the defensive lineman.
Walter Nolen was a five-star recruit from the 2022 class and the number two overall player. The 285lb lineman had a solid true freshman season, recording 29 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble recovery. This season, Nolen had 37 tackles and four sacks on a strong Aggies defense.
Lane Kiffin and the team will be working hard on the visit. Showing Nolen how wanted he is in Oxford and the role he will have on the 2024 Rebels roster.
The defensive players Ole Miss have already signed from the transfer portal show the ambition the team have for the 2024 season. If they can sell that to Nolen, it would be a masterstroke from Kiffin.
