Jaxson Dart's unprecedented success as the Giants QB had the jaws of the entire New York on the floor.
The Giants took a gamble with ex-Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart, and it turned out to be worth every bit of the risk. This season, mock drafts see the franchise putting its money on another sleeper Rebel that has the interest of NFL scouts piqued.
Ole Miss's De'Zhaun Stribling is considered a Day 3 WR, but there is a chance he slips down the board, and the Giants get a chance to draft him as their Round 6 pick.
A To Z Sports' Ryan Roberts sees Stribling going to the Giants as No. 186 overall.
Round 6, Pick 186: De’Zhaun Stribling, WR, Ole MissÂ
"There’s a chance that Stribling goes earlier in the draft, but the Giants aren’t going to complain. Stribling is a physical pass catcher who can win above the rim, while also being better after the catch than many would expect," Robers writes.
"Ole Miss WR De’Zhaun Stribling (#1) feels like a Day 3 wide receiver who is going to carve out an important niche on the next level. Strong frame, physical after the catch, and a solid route runner for his profile. Not a dynamic athlete, but efficient."
Stribling finishing as one of the fastest 40-yard dashers at the NFL Combine this season boosted his draft stock and got the NFL teams hooked on his raw potential.
Adding the WR would give the Giants roster the physicality it needs to give Dart another off-the-charts year.
With a bit of practice, Stribling could easily secure a starting role in the coming years.
The lethal combination of size and IQ that makes DeZhaun Stribling the ultimate NFL Draft sleeper, and whichever team drafts him will end up as a major winner.
