Arkansas fans are furious with Ole Miss, the transfer portal, their program, and anybody who will listen

Arkansas fans can't decide who to blame surrounding the departures to Ole Miss.

Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss have been hot regarding the transfer portal since it opened on December 9, as expected. Six players, three of them Arkansas players, have committed to the Rebels.

Offensive lineman Patrick Kutas, defensive back Jaylon Braxton, and tight end Luke Hasz all crossed the border to Mississippi. They are all three top players, with Kutas and Hasz among the top 25 ranked portal players, according to 247Sports.

The Arkansas fanbase is raging on social media. However, they can't identify who or what to blame for their best players heading to one of their rival teams.

Arkansas fan base is not happy with the transfer portal situation

I can't imagine it's a great feeling when a huge chunk of your roster hits the transfer portal. That's what is happening in Fayetteville, with the more significant problem being several have committed to a rival team.

It's not a well-known rivalry nationally, but Ole Miss and Arkansas are not friends. So when players transfer from the Razorbacks to the Rebels, it hurts. It also makes you throw out accusations as to why, with some fans believing Ole Miss had tampered with the three players, as their only visit was to Oxford and committed straight after.

Others believed that the Arkansas staff was to blame, not doing enough to keep them on the roster, whether through leadership or poor play throughout the season.

Some below-the-belt social media posts also targeted the players' past injuries. The majority of fans pointed to the changing scenery of the game, with money being their motive. Ole Miss did not make the playoffs but still finished another top-15-ranked season, so I'd say most want a chance at success and a double-digit winning season.

Lane Kiffin took plenty of shots, not escaping the rage from the Razorback fanbase, which I'm sure he secretly enjoyed while flicking through the comments.

Another good explanation, and likely what happened, is that current Rebels linebacker Chris Paul Jr., who transferred from Arkansas after last season, spoke highly of the university and its coaching staff, among other things.

Ole Miss will face Arkansas in Oxford in Week 3 of the 2025 college football season. If the transfers stay, the game will be more exciting.
