As expected, cryptic social media post from Lane Kiffin is about Deuce Knight, who sticks with Auburn pledge
Ole Miss is set to be involved in several battles to flip 2025 recruits but did lose out on the first battle earlier. Five-star quarterback Deuce Knight has decided to sign with his committed team, Auburn, despite some heavy pressure from Lane Kiffin and the Rebels.
Rumors that Knight was going to stay with his second committed school of the cycle circled when Lane Kiffin quote posted a video with a rolling eye face emoji, with the video saying, "The best stay in the Sip."
Ole Miss will be fine at quarterback despite missing out on Deuce Knight
It's no secret that Ole Miss was big on Deuce Knight. They chased his commitment from the start and did not hold back when he committed to Notre Dame and Auburn. Knight, a Mississippi native, loved the Rebels staff and Lane Kiffin but decided Auburn was the best place for him.
It's a blow for Ole Miss, but they will be okay. Jaxson Dart's departure opens the door for a new starter, likely Austin Simmons. Despite being with the program for two seasons, Simmons was a 2025 class quarterback but reclassified to 2023.
Knight is a talent, and Ole Miss would have loved him on the roster. The more talent at each position, the better for the program, with the ability for the best of the best to push each other to become better.
The Rebels still have several targets that they are trying to flip, and they have chips in the center for a few uncommitted players, so expect a few bust days for Ole Miss.
