The Grove is getting decked out to host Ole Miss's first-ever College Football Playoff game against Tulane.

The last time the Rebels took on the Green Wave and won the landslide 45-10 game, Pete Golding was calling the plays from the box as the defensive coordinator.

Now, he's the head coach, who is still going to continue calling the defensive plays.

A natural question that came up during Golding's press conference on Monday was whether that defensive play-calling would once again be up from that box, or from the sideline?

After a bit of mulling and refining his game-plan, Golding finally had an answer.

"Where am I calling it from? Yeah, I’m going to be on the field," he said.

Golding recounted on how his experience in calling the plays from the field, plus his box experience, makes the sideline game much easier for him.

"And so that’s something, my first year here I was on the field, you know, that’s all five years at Alabama. When I called it I was on the field. So, you know, the hardest thing to actually do is to call it from the box because you’re never in a box of practice."

"So everybody wants to talk about the difference between the box and the field. You’re only in the box 12 times a year. You know, so it’s getting adjusted to that and then getting removed from your players. So I think the biggest thing you know is having a guy up there that can see it the way you do it. Right, which we will. But I’ve had a lot of experience calling it from the sideline, but I’ll be on the sideline for the game."

The more clarity Ole Miss fans are getting from Golding, the more confident they are getting about the Rebels in the Playoff.

The Tulane rematch is Golding's first game as a head coach, and yet Ole Miss is the early odds-on favorite. The Vaught-Hemingway will be packed to say the least on Saturday to see whether the odds stand true after all.
