Just a few months out from the college football season, and with not much going on in other top college sports, it means it's time for talking season. The ESPN FPI has ranked teams that have the best chance of making a National Championship game and who could make the College Football Playoffs.

They have now taken a shot at how the SEC standings will look at the end of the 2025 season, taking into account the percentage chance of winning the conference.

The ESPN supercomputer believes Ole Miss has just a 2.8% chance of winning the SEC this coming season, which would place them seventh in the standings, behind LSU and ahead of Auburn. Aside from the top three teams in Texas, Georgia, and Alabama, they believe not many have a big chance of winning the Southeastern Conference.

The Rebels are still in a good position to make the CFP despite an overhaul of talent, as a high percentage of players are heading to the NFL. They will only face one of those expected top-three teams this season, Georgia, in Athens. The schedule is a good one for Lane Kiffin and his staff, with three teams that could be fighting for a playoff spot coming to Oxford.

ESPN has Ole Miss with the eighth-highest chance at 30.7%, the sixth-best in the SEC. Despite LSU having a better chance of winning the SEC, they have a 0.4% better chance of making the playoffs. They will face off in Oxford early in the season, which could be a big game for the Rebels, who would like to be 4-0 at that point. The Tigers will have played Clemson and Florida by then, so it could be high if they lose one or two of those games.

It would be an almighty shock for Ole Miss to make the SEC Championship game, but not impossible.
