The 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl is all wrapped up, with the game ending with a walk-off touchdown off touchdown from the American team.
Former Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart was on the winning team and played his part early in the game. The Utah native put the first points on the board for the American team, and he did it in a fashion that Rebels fans are used to seeing.
With his team 8-0 Dart ran the ball in from the 7-yard line, trying to engage contact, but managed to dip under the attempted tackles and rush into the endzone.
He brushed himself off and hit the huddle for the two-point conversion attempt. On the move to his right, he hit former Arkansas wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa with an accurate pass.
Dart started his day with a bang, hitting Jack Beck on a 39-yard pass during a flea-flicker play. The hype around Dart is justified, as he showed his arm talent in his time on the field. He also showed his ability as a rusher when needed.
Dart had already seperated himself during the week. He was named the top quarterback on the American squad in a vote from CB and DS position groups at the Practice Player-of-the-Week awards ceremony. He continued to put himself in the conversation as a first-round draft pick.
Media, coaches, and former players, including Charlie Weis Sr., commented on Dart and his draft stock. The former coach and father of Ole Miss offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. spoke about Dart on social media.
"On radio last year, I said as early as February that Daniels was my preference and that I couldn't understand why Bo Nix was not in the discussion with the top QB's. This year's Bo Nix is Jaxson Dart. Some team will get second guessed then be very happy."Charlie Weis Sr.
Dart will be a top quarterback in the NFL draft, but will he be a first-round selection? There are lots of different opinions, but the media seem to suggest he will be.
