Former Ole Miss wide receiver Elijah Moore has a new home in the NFL. After spending the last two seasons in Cleveland, the 25-year-old has signed a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the deal is worth up to $5 million.
It's an excellent move for Moore, who has a much more realistic chance of winning a Super Bowl ring than in his previous four seasons with the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns.
He has also teamed up with struggling quarterbacks, but has shown his ability regardless of that. In 25 starts with the Browns, Moore finished with 120 receptions, 1,178 receiving yards, and three touchdowns. That was with five different starting QBs in 2023 and four in 2024.
This year, he will get a significant upgrade at the position of 2024 MVP Joah Allen. The Bills and Allen have been knocking on the door of a Super Bowl appearance. Losing in the AFC Championship game to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024-25. The Bills have made the postseason for the last six seasons under Allen.
Moore heads into a competitive wide receiver room. Second-year outside receiver Keon Coleman looks to be the No.1 guy, followed by a chunk of potential. Khalil Shakir had his best season with the Bills in 2024, managing 821 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Behind him is another off-season accusation in Josh Palmer, with Curtis Samuel and KJ Hamler rounding out the experienced players in the room. It means there is a route for Moore to become the team's WR2/3.
Moore is one of several former Ole Miss wide receivers in the league, with recent players Tre Harris and Jordan Watkins recent draft selections joining the talented Rebels such as A.J. Brown, DK Metcalf, and Moore. Ole Miss has continued to be a wide receiver factory in recent years.
