Ole Miss fans took part in their second field storming in two seasons, with a good reason for the latest one. The Rebels celebrated taking down No. 3 ranked Georgia with the traditional field storming, with one Georgia player looking like he was joining in the celebrations.

Defensive back Jake Pope appeared in a video showing him jumping up and down with a couple of Ole Miss fans during the celebrations on the field. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said a few things about the matter today.

Kirby Smart calls out Jake Pope for his silly decision

During the press conference for the Tennessee game, Kirby Smart was asked about the video, and he was not too happy about what he saw.

""What an idiot. Just stupid... But to be honest with you, I don’t really have time to waste on that. My focus is on Tennessee.""

Smart explained the situation, and Pope followed up by releasing a post explaining and apologizing to the Georgia fans, his coaches, and his teammates.

It was an error of judgment from Pope, with many players and fans coming to his defense, including former Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. Pope played at Alabama from 2022-2023, with Clinton-Dix calling him a good kid and a fighter.

It was a big win for Ole Miss, who kept their playoff hopes alive. Georgia is now in the same boat as the Rebels, having to win out. Next up got the Bulldogs, No. 6 ranked Tennessee, a tough one in Athens.
