Ole Miss QB coach Joe Judge went to help Trinidad Chambliss win his case against the NCAA. Instead, he found himself in a disaster of his own making.
When explaining the importance of sleep for players, Judge shared from fatherhood tips... from 1954.
Social media was set ablaze the moment Judge's clip saying players should be "detached" from their enwborn babies during the season went viral.
It was a PR dumpster fire of his own making. And after hearing all sorts of insults on his take, the Rebels QB coach finally resorted to damage control on Saturday.
“Some of my comments from Thursday have been taken out of context, so I’d like to provide some clarity. In a discussion about Trinidad’s sleep apnea, I was trying to point out the importance that the NFL places on sleep for recovery and performance in addition to the education of balancing family dynamics during the football season," Judge wrote in his social media post.

“These are discussions I was a part of at the professional level from veteran players based on their own experience managing similar situations. These are not discussions we’ve had at the collegiate level."
“As a husband and father of four children, I understand those challenges first hand and would never diminish the commitment to family. We share that same dedication to family with our players and always support them through any challenges they face in their personal lives," Judge continued.
It is not the first time that Judge's ancient views have put his reputation in the crosshairs.
It probably won't be the last. Stone Age views or not, Judge now needs to zone out the outside noise and focus on making the best out of the additional year that Chambliss has with Ole Miss.
