It's a bittersweet time of the college football season for fans, knowing there are just a few games left of the regular season. Some will be happy it's nearly over, while others, such as Ole Miss, are excitedly looking at a potential college football playoff spot.
The College Football Rankings Release Show will air for the first time this season and look slightly different to previously. For the first time, the 2024 season will have a 12-team playoff, so plenty more eyes than usual will be on screens across the nation.

How does College Football Playoff format work?
The new 12-team College Football Playoff makes every conference more interesting. Each Power 4 Conference Champion gets an automatic bid alongside the best Group of 5 Champion. The remaining seven openings will go to the following best-ranked teams. The top four ranked conference champions will receive a round 1 bye, while the other eight teams face off, with the highest-ranked team of each match-up having home-field advantage.
