Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart stood out at yesterday's workouts within his position group. The Utah native hit all the throws and then some.

It follows on from his highly productive three seasons with the Rebels and a good showing at the Senior Bowl. It had teams such as the Steelers and Raiders, who were reportedly very high on Dart.

His draft stock is heading in one direction only, which will be helped by comments from scouts and analysts. NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah was the latest to heap praise on Dart, comparing him to a current Super Bowl-winning quarterback.

"I was talking about him the other day and the comparison that took some people off guard by talking about Jalen Hurts. Just in terms of the build, how the ball comes out of his hand. Guys who have gotten better every year in college."

That is some praise. Hurts won the Super Bowl this past season at his second attempt, losing at Super Bowl 57. However, it took some time for the former Alabama and Oklahoma QB to get going at the pro level.

Hurts had the time to grow into the starting role, giving that opportunity to others who are not afforded it. It would be hugely beneficial to Dart if he could head to a team with a veteran who would be able to watch and learn for a season.

It's a tactic that has not been utilized as much in recent years, but it benefited Patrick Mahomes, who sat for a season behind the now-retired Alex Smith.

Daniel Jeremiah heaped further praise on Dart, who believes, just like Hurts, he will continue to get better through his NFL career.

"I know Jalen ran the ball more, but Jaxson was successful in running the ball in the SEC. He is very athletic, and there is something to this one for me. He is a guy who is going to keep getting better."
