Jaxson Dart is rooting for the guy who built his Heisman-level resume, putting in a nice word for his former OC at Ole Miss.

Dart showed massive potential as New York's QB in his rookie season. All he needs now is an OC who understands how to draw the best out of him.

Since Charlie Weis Jr. already did that once in Oxford, Dart was confident about bringing him to New York as the Giants' new OC.

"Jaxson Dart pushed for him. Showed support for his guy, per sources. Things can change but expectations as of now are that Weis Jr. plans to remain in college at LSU," Jordan Raanan reported.

In another interview with Big Blue View, Dart's answer to what he thinks about his former OC says exactly why he was pounding the table for Weis Jr.

“I loved playing with Charlie,” Dart said. “Made tremendous strides as a player each year playing under him. Obviously just have a great relationship with him, his dad [Charlie Weis Sr.], his wife Jen. They’re a great family and I couldn’t say anything bad about Charlie.

“He’s a great coach. He’s a bright young mind in this game, and he’s going to have a long career and is going to win a lot of championships. Whatever level that is, I have all the respect in the world for him.”

For now, the reports have Weis Jr. staying true to his commitment to LSU, and declining every potential NFL jobs coming his way.

We'll see if there is any job that could make Weis Jr. change his mind about it.
