Ole Miss football was saddled with the one 'worst-case' reality they weren't ready to face in the first-round of College Football Playoff.
Just minutes away from finishing the second quarter in style with a 17-3 lead over Tulane, the Rebels were blindsided by an injury scare involving two of their star players, Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy.

Lacy was spotted holding his left arm, which is speculated to be a shoulder injury, as he headed towards the sideline.
Chambliss did walk to the tent on his own, which kept the Rebels' hopes alive.
What's worse was the two of them got injured on the same second-quarter drive, which led to a turnover.
The wave of concern instantly hit the cheering-on-top-of-their-lungs Ole Miss fans as both Lacy and Chambliss took some time to get back on their feet.
Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding said he will receive an update at halftime on RB Kewan Lacy and QB Trinidad Chambliss when asked by Katie George of ESPN.

The only sigh of relief the Rebel Nation got was when Lacy appeared back on the sideline with his helmet after spending a few minutes in the tent.

Update: Lacy and Chambliss to return in second half
John Darrell of Ole Miss Network confirmed Lacy and Chambliss's return to the second half, and that they did not suffer anything major.

But even the minor bang up almost ended up becoming the Rebel Nation's most-dreaded nightmare.
Simmons, who had to swap in for Chambliss in the final minutes of the second quarter, will once again hand over the QB role to the Ferris State transfer.
While head coach Pete Golding didn't get into the specifics of injury during halftime, he did say that Chambliss's and Lacy's injuries were "obviously not ideal" and that his team has to have a "next man up" mentality.
We'll see if the scare affects the Rebels more in the second half.
