The highly anticipated SEC showdown between Ole Miss and LSU on September 27 has locked in its kickoff time and broadcast details, building excitement for what could be a top-15 matchup in Oxford. The game will kick off at2:30 p.m. CT inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium and will be nationally televised on ABC.

The annual Magnolia is perhaps the most look forward to games for both fans bases. It has really been a great rivalry and that is very true over the last several seasons, creating some all-time classic matchups.

That is very true of the last two games, of course last season's OT loss still stings all Rebels, and they will have another shot at the Tigers, this year inside the Vaught. Unfortunately, Ole Miss will not get a night game this time around. This will certainly make the Ole Miss fan base upset, as they once again strike out on getting a marquee night matchup.

Ole Miss is currently ranked number 13 in the AP poll and will face a pretty tough G5 team in Tulane this Saturday in Oxford. A win this weekend for Ole Miss will ensure that the matchup will be one of the top games of the weekend against LSU and a battle of two undefeated teams with major playoff implications. A look at the Ole Miss schedule clearly points to this game being a major infliction point for a potential run at the CFP.

LSU is coming off a 20-10 victory against the Florida Gators in Death Valley and of course have that major victory on the road against Clemson. The Tigers find themselves ranked in the top echelon of college football at #3 in the country. They take on SE Louisiana this Saturday, virtually guaranteeing they will be 4-0 when they arrive in Oxford

With the rebels entrenched in the Top 15 and LSU positioned as a playoff contender, September 27 promises a compelling battle that could reshape the conference race and boost playoff aspirations for whichever side prevails. The home team has won the last 4 Magnolia Bowls and the Rebels will hope to keep that streak alive
