Taking a timeout on their usual ribbing, Lane Kiffin and Paul Finebaum had a sarcasm-free, no tongue-in-cheek, genuine exchange.

The SEC mouthpiece picked Ole Miss to win during SEC Nation picks ahead of the LSU-Ole Miss showdown. Interestingly, he was the only one to pick the Rebels among all six hosts, who all had Brian Kelly's Tigers over Ole Miss.

Kiffin never misses an opportunity to throw some sharp taunts at Finebaum, especially if the ESPN analyst has said something bold about him or his team.

There was a minor flip of the script this time, but Kiffin had to give Finebaum credit where it was due.

So, following a thrilling 24-19 victory over LSU, Kiffin extended an olive branch to his long-time banter partner.

"I see you Paul," Kiffin shared on X, while also tagging the other hosts, sending a subtle sneer their way.

Jordan Rodgers humorously defends himself

Rodgers, one of the five hosts who picked LSU over Ole Miss, jumped in with a justification for his pick.

"If it means anything, I was very conflicted. Especially after hearing you say take the over. My bad," the analyst responded.

After a win like that against LSU, analysts might be tempted to lean towards Ole Miss from the next prediction.

A 5-0 Ole Miss squad now heads to a bye week, following which they will take on Washington State.

How long the Rebels continue their perfect win streak will be the thing that keeps everyone hooked for the remainder of the season.

What will be even more interesting would be Finebaum's take on it.
