Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is a big fan of the 2026 quarterback class. The Rebels look set to have a third visit planned for a top quarterback, the latest being a five-star prospect.
On3 has reported that Ryder Lyons has lined up spring visits to Ole Miss, Michigan, Ohio State, BYU, Oregon, and USC. It was reported last month that Lyons was just focused on Oregon and USC. However, further schools are looking to get some kind of shot.

Lyons is ranked the No. 3 quarterback by 247sports. They also have him as the No.1 player in California and the No.6 ranked player nationally. The 247sports composite ranking, which takes the four major recruiting sites ranking and combines them, has Lyons ranked No.4 overall. They all believe he is a top 5 talent.
Ole Miss doesn't usually grab top-ranked quarterbacks from the recruiting class. However, they have a small glimmer of a chance in 2026. it may help that they already have a wide receiver commit from the same high school as Lyons, Jameson Powell. Both are heading into their senior seasons at Folsom High School.
Kiffin isn't just putting all his eggs in one basket. He has visits lined up in March and June for other top quarterbacks. Gavin Sidwar (March visit) and Landon Duckworth (June visit) are two players Kiffin likes. The latter is another top ranked talent, coming in at the No. 6 quarterback by 247Sports.
Luke Fahey is another name to watch, as is Rees Wise. 2026 seems to be the year for a quarterback for Kiffin. He has Austin Simmons in the program right now, who, despite being with the team for the past two seasons, is an original class of 2025 recruit. He reclassified and looks to be the starter for at least two seasons.
